Scuba Sets

Scuba sets are independent breathing apparatus that provide divers the essential breathing gas so that they can breathe easily inside the deep water.

This way, it helps the scuba divers to stay underwater for a longer period of time. There are basically two types of scuba sets available.

Aqualung

In 1943, Jacques Yves Cousteau and Emile Gagnan invented Aqualung - the first modern scuba diving set. This scuba set is also referred to as open circuit scuba set. Aqualung uses a very simple technology, in which the divers breathe in from the set and out to waste.

The reliability of this equipment is high and it is also very much inexpensive as compared to other types of scuba sets. These open circuit scuba sets are most commonly termed as “scuba”.

Rebreather

Rebreather is another type of scuba set available today. This equipment is also referred to as closed-circuit or semi-closed circuit scuba set.

This scuba set uses a technology in which the divers have to breathe in from the set and out back into the set. What makes these scuba sets special is their ability to repossess the exhaled gas to make it fit to breathe again.

Features Of Scuba Sets

•    The scuba sets are used as an effective means that could get you air or breathing gas essential to breath deep inside     the water.

•    These equipments use a high-pressure diving cylinder that is attached to the diver’s body.

•    There is a demand regulator in both types of scuba sets. Its main function is to control the supply of the breathing     gas. However, there are some other types of Rebreathers also available in the market that use a constant-flow regulator as in blowtorches.

Scuba sets with constant flow do not use a demand regulator. In such an equipment, the breathing gas flows at a constant rate unless you change the same manually.

•    Sometimes an Aqualung can be much more expensive, especially when you use the same with expensive gas mixes such as heliox and trimix.

•    Aqualungs have been specifically designed to be used for shorter scuba dives. If you are looking for scuba sets for     longer dives, it is always better to go for Rebreathers – the closed-circuit or semi-closed circuit scuba sets.

•    These equipments carry standard air - 21% Oxygen and 79% Nitrogen.

•    The divers have to wear the cylinder containing air or the breathing gas on their back.

•     Some scuba sets come with twin cylinders, but they should be used only for technical diving, that too, for a longer     duration inside the deep water.

•    Armed with an effective scuba set, you can breathe a little easy.
